Jeremy and Trudy – Picnic Wedding in the Rose Garden, Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens – Part 1

Wow – what an amazing day in the Botanical Gardens  :)

I have too many favourites – so I’m dividing this wedding into 2 parts!!

Our day started off at The Quay Grand (secretly, I would love to stay in this hotel for a romantic city getaway – hint hint Ben.) Trudy and her bridesmaids stayed here the night before her wedding… spending her last night as a single woman in style  ;) The hotel is only a short walk away from the Rose Gardens in the Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney, so Trudy and the girls headed to the ceremony on foot. You may notice that Trudy ’s dress a little different to the traditional wedding dress and to make her entrance and the dress even more striking Trudy wore an amazing cloak to hide the gown. You should have heard the gasps of joy from the crowd when Trudy dropped the cloak – it certainly was amazing!

If you’ve taken a sneak peek at the images, you may have noticed something else that is a little different about the ceremony… the guests all sat on picnic blankets while they watched the ceremony. Straight after the ceremony the guests enjoyed a picnic lunch in the Rose Garden with the Bride and Groom. There were speeches and generally a fabulous time had by everyone.

More to come tomorrow    :)

Kevin and Erin – Mt Hay – Blue Mountains Wedding Photography

Last weekend Ben and I went 4WDing with Kevin and Erin for their engagement shoot. I had visions of steep uneven hills, holding tightly onto the door grip for support – a bit of an adrenalin ride really… but the track was very tame – more of a dirt track really! Not being to the Mt Hay lookout before we didn’t know what to expect, we knew we were going to a lookout but we didn’t expect the amazing escarpment they took us to. Mt Hay has a spectacular view of the valley and the landscape is dotted with so many native plants. Just prooves that there are amazing locations out there and I can’t wait to discover them!!

We had such a fun afternoon and we’re really looking forward to Kevin and Erin’s wedding in September (which is also in the Blue Mountains.)

Drove into a lake Out-take

We have another out-take today.
A ghostly image that was taken during our “I was late to the wedding because… I drove into a lake.”

We’re off to a wedding today – I’ll be sure to share those images soon.

Cherry Blossom Bridal Shoot – Blue Mountains Wedding Photographer

I LOVE CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!! and luckily, right now is the perfect time of year for them. Spring is in the air!!

I remembered seeing a beautiful farm on a drive Ben and I took last year and I thought maybe I could find it again… and guess what??? I did!!!! I had been waiting to photograph a bride with cherry blossoms and YAY! it finally happened. Big thanks to Claire and Deeds for going with me on this one and having faith that we would eventually find the farm:)I just love these images.

Alien Abduction Out-take

While we take a break from the series, I thought we should share an image Ben has been working on.

It’s an alien abduction caught mid action from a distance.

This is an out-take of our “I was late to the wedding because… I was abducted by aliens!” You can see the rest of that post here:

Ben will get a chance to show off more of these skills with one of our upcoming shoots – so stay tuned for that one.
